Meet our Assistant Accountant, Laura!

In this blog post, we interviewed our Assistant Accountant, Laura, to learn more about her integral role at One Two One Accounts.
What previous experience do you have in the accountancy industry?
“I was a management accountant, spending 2 years in the automotive industry and then 12 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing, so moving to practice accounting was an adjustment, but I enjoy the variety of working on full accounts for multiple companies.”
What are your day-to-day responsibilities?
“On a day-to-day basis, I could be processing a client’s self-assessment tax returns or dealing with VAT returns, company accounts and payrolls. I am also on hand to answer any client queries.”
What do you enjoy most about your work?
“I really enjoy working with numbers, I feel a massive sense of satisfaction when I get a client’s bank account reconciled and their accounts pulled together.
Our office has a great vibe, Jamie and Jenni are lovely to work with and it is a very relaxed and friendly accountancy practice.
One Two One offers a great work-life balance; I am able to be there for my little boy for school pick-ups and drop-offs as well as the school holidays, whilst also always being on-hand and available to tend to my accountancy clients’ needs.”
How do you typically like to spend your time when you’re not in the office?
“Eating! I love visiting restaurants, it’s like a hobby for me, a night out with good food and wine is my idea of heaven. I also love watching movies with my husband. I have an uncanny knack for remembering actors’ filmographies – I have been called human IMDB in the past!”
